Sometimes a good Idea takes a while to come to you. Another of my experimental short films from the university of Victoria. Takes a while to get going so don't go anywhere, just keep watching.

Bus Stop

Bus Stop from Kristian Lowe on Vimeo.

My first live action Short Film made back in 2010/2011 in my last year of university. This one is based on a real life event of mine. I was waiting at the bus stop one evening in Victoria and I saw someone passed out at the base of the tree behind the bus stop. I'd been their like 20 minutes before I realized he was there. I couldn't get him to respond and it really freaked me out because I wasn't sure he was alive or not. After freaking out for a couple minutes the bus arrived and I told the driver. Shortly after the police arrived and checked the guy out as the bus took me away. I never found out what really happened that night. After living in Vancouver for a year I don't think an event like this would shake me as much, being accustomed to so many homeless in the city.

Quick walk cycle test in toonboom harmony(trial version).  Joints are working okay I feel but the head bobs too much and the body not enough.  Still going to tweek it as I still have time left with the trial.

Mystery Line Art

So when we were cleaning our classroom at the end of december I found a page of animation paper with some really cool sketches on it.  I haven't been able to find out who drew it yet, but I really wanted to do something with this found art work.  So I scanned a sample and coloured it a bit in photoshop.

Legend of the Lost Zelda

So a couple weeks ago I bought a copy of the Hyrule Historia http://www.hyrulehistoria.com
About 20 min later I was looking for new shoes in the mall.  I found a pair I wanted to try so I put down my stuff to see if they fit.  Disappointed that my search must continue I grabbed my stuff and walked away to join my girlfriend.  10 minutes later I realised the stuff I was carrying wasn't as heavy as before.  I had forgotten my new book at the spot I tried on the shoes!  I went back to look for it but it was gone.  I checked with security and the lost and found.  No one had seen it and it never did turn up. Likely someone just had a really good day and decided to walk off with it.  TT___TT

But today my girlfriend gave me a new copy as a late Valentine's, early anniversary gift!  Everything is pretty great now.  Thanks dear, I love you!

Pixel Family

Here is some models I made for one of my first flash Films.  I was inspired by the Pokemon pixel characters and created a quick short that had me run around a pixelated world to introduce my family.
I was pretty new to flash and I had never done animation so there were no walk cycles, just a walking pose that slid across the screen.  But it's okay because only my brother and I could move anyway.

Prosper, and Live Long

Good luck to J.J. Abrams and his team on the new Star Wars Episode VII movie.
At first I was a bit skeptical that the same director of Star Trek should do Star Wars as well.  But after listening to different opinions and looking at his previous work, I'm confident and excited it will be a well made and fun movie.  Just hopefully with less lens-flares.
